(7/1/2009) Annual Sacred Heart Mass in District 8: After two weeks of rain, the PRCUA was blessed with beautiful weather on Sunday, June 14th for the Annual Sacred Heart Mass in memory of living and deceased PRCUA members. The Mass was held at 2 p.m. at Our Lady of the Woods Church in Orland Park, IL, thanks to the cooperation of Rev. Michael W. O'Connell, Pastor.

(7/1/2009) 2009 Illinois-Indiana Women’s Division Annual Swiecone: On April 26, 2009, the Illinois-Indiana Women’s Division of the Fraternal Department of the PRCUA held their annual Swiecone at the Lido Banquets in Chicago, IL. The afternoon began with a greeting and prayer by Illinois-Indiana Women’s Division President Geraldine Kowalski. Everyone then enjoyed a delicious luncheon at tables that were brightly decorated with a Spring theme.

(6/29/2009) Chance to Win a Polish Eagle Quilt: The Polish Roman Catholic Union of America (PRCUA) Education Fund is having a "We Love Our Scholars" Luncheon on Thursday, August 6, 2009. In conjunction with this luncheon, there will be a raffle with many beautiful prizes.

(6/15/2009) 72nd National PRCUA Bowling Tournament Was One for the History Books: The 72nd National PRCUA Bowling Tournament was held on April 17-19, 2009 at the New Glass Bowl Lanes in Toledo, OH. Forty-eight teams participated in this event. Many of our bowlers took advantage of the high scoring conditions in this house and "SHOT THE LIGHTS OUT"!! There were not one, not two, but THREE 300 games shot!

(5/18/2009) Support Our Youth by Supporting the PRCUA Education Fund, Inc.: The cost of higher education is increasing at a rapid pace with each passing year. It becomes more difficult for students to attend school and at the same time, work to pay the bills. It is because of financial assistance from organizations like the Polish Roman Catholic Union of America that students are able to attend college and concentrate more on school work rather than go into the work world to pay for their schooling.

(5/11/2009) Fantastic Opportunity for PRCUA Youth: A new program is being offered by the Polish organization, “Wspolnota Polska”, that hopes to acquaint American teens of Polish heritage with the country of their roots.The PRCUA has been asked to select 4 members to participate in the program. Participants will tour Poland for two weeks learning about Polish heritage, art, culture, architecture and everyday life in Poland.

(5/9/2009) Naród Polski Digital Publication Announcement: The Polish Roman Catholic Union of America is pleased to inform all its members that, as part of our green strategy, PRCUA will be producing digital versions of the Naród Polski publication in 2009.

(4/22/2009) The Polish Day Parade Committee is Roasting PRCUA President Wallace Ozog: Support the Hamtramck's Polish Day Parade and join others as the wit and humor flies. The Roast will be held on Thursday, June 4, 2009 at the PNA Hall in Hamtramck, MI.

(4/20/2009) Honoring our Deputies: The Polish Roman Catholic Union of America is pleased to present the 2008 Deputy Honor Roll for Life Insurance Sales and Annuity Sales. Heartfelt thanks and gratitude are extended to the following deputies (agents) and supervisors who have worked throughout the year 2008 to expand the membership base of our fraternal.

(3/7/2009) PRCUA Joins Other Fraternals in Hosting Polish-American Day 2009: On Saturday, June 6, 2009 from 10:00am - 9:00pm, the Polish Roman Catholic Union of America, Polish Women's Alliance, Polish Falcons of America, and Polish National Alliance are hosting Polish-American Day 2009 at Six Flags Great America.

(2/24/2009) PRCUA Joins Other Fraternals in Hosting Polish-American Night 2009: On Tuesday, June 9, 2009 at 7:11pm, the Polish Roman Catholic Union of America, Polish National Alliance, Polish Falcons of America, and Polish Women's Alliance are hosting Polish-American Night 2009 at U.S Cellular Field.

(2/16/2009) $7,600 in Prizes Awarded to PRCUA Societies: On January 28th, a drawing was held, with the PRCUA Executive Officers and Staff of the Membership Department present, to select the winners in PRCUA’s Annual Society Membership Promotion. There were a total of 31 entries, earned by Societies for life insurance applications approved from Dec. 16, 2007 to Dec. 15, 2008.

(2/16/2009) Take a Pro-Life Stand: The Polish Roman Catholic Union of America is joining together with other Catholic fraternal organizations, and with thousands of Catholic parishes across the nation, in a letter campaign urging members of Congress to oppose the "Freedom of Choice Act" (FOCA) and to retain existing laws against government funding and promotion of abortion.

(2/16/2009) PRCUA to host Easter Polish Culture Day: Saturday, March 28, 2009. From 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Celebrate Easter by learning Polish traditions. Sample traditional Easter food and learn its significance. Experience various types of Old World hands-on Easter folk art. All proceeds will benefit the PRCUA Education Fund, Inc.

(2/10/2009) PRCUA Education Fund Partners with Jewel Osco on Pulaski Day Scholarship: The Polish Roman Catholic Union of America Education Fund, Inc. is pleased to announce their new partnership with Jewel Osco. Jewel Osco, sponsors of the Pulaski Day Scholarship, have chosen the PRCUA Education Fund to facilitate the annual scholarship. The scholarship will be presented at the Official State of Illinois Pulaski Day Celebration, held in the Great Hall of the Polish Museum of America. The PRCUA Education Fund Committee will select 5 recipients, each of whom will receive a $1,000.00 scholarship applicable for the 2009-2010 school year. High school seniors and college students who will be continuing their undergraduate studies are encouraged to apply. Submissions must be received by February 23, 2009.

(2/10/2009) Stypendia z okazji Dnia Pułaskiego od Jewel-Osco przy współpracy z Funduszem Edukacyjnym Zjednoczenia Polskiego Rzymsko Katolickiego w Ameryce: Fundusz Edukacyjny Zjednoczenia Polskiego Rzymsko Katolickiego w Ameryce z radością zawiadamia o swojej nowej współpracy z Jewel Osco. Jewel Osco, sponsor corocznych stypendiów z okazji Dnia Pułaskiego, wybrał Fundusz Edukacyjny Zjednoczenia do współpracy przy ocenie aplikacji stypendialnych. Czerpak, Head of the Naval Historical Collection at the Naval War College in Newport, RI, interviewed him for over an hour on November 10, 2008.

(1/19/2009) Introducing the 2009 PRCUA Cinderella and Prince Charming: The M. Konopnicka Adult Culture Group of the PRCUA held its Annual Cinderella - Prince Charming Ball at the Lexington House in Hickory Hills, IL on November 22, 2008. This elegant event provides an opportunity for high school age PRCUA members to be formally presented to society by their parents and honored by their family and friends.

(1/15/2009) Temporary IRS waiver from taking the 2009 Required Minimum Distribution (RMD): On December 23, 2008, the United States of America President signed the Worker, Retiree, and Employer Recovery Act of 2008 (the Act) into law. Section 201 of the Act waives any required minimum distributions (RMDs) for 2009 for IRAs. Therefore, for 2009, you are not required to take an RMD from your IRA. This waiver applies to participants in these plans as well as beneficiaries.
