Dear Members:
The Board
of Directors of the Polish Roman Catholic Union of America, a National
Fraternal Benefit Society, authorized the organization of a non-profit
Education Fund to accept tax-deductible donations to be used for
scholarships for higher education.
On
February 23, 2001, the Internal Revenue Service granted the Polish Roman
Catholic Union of America Education Fund its Non Profit Status, as described
in Section 501© (3).
Under the
PRCUA Education Fund, Education Scholarships can now be established in the
name of an individual or an organization. There are two types:
-
A One-Time Fund,
that makes scholarship monies available for a given year.
-
A Permanent Fund
of $25,000.00 or more in capitol deposits within a twelve (12) month
period. The income generated from this donation is used to award
Scholarship Grants to students.
Donors
can specify the types of scholarships to be awarded, such as, students
majoring in Polish Studies, Medical School, Education, Accounting or Liberal
Arts.
A third
fund, called the Polish Roman Catholic Union of America Education
Fund, established by the Board of Directors, gives Scholarships to
students, as funds are available.
All
donations to the Education Fund are tax deductible. Note: Donations
can be made in cash, checks, real estate property, securities, gifts of
future interest, insurance, wills and trust. This is a great opportunity for
individuals and organizations to make a donation in honor of or in memory of
that special person who sees the importance of assisting our youth, our
future, to receive a good education.
If not
specified by the Donor, criteria used for evaluation of applications and
awarding of scholarships are as follows:
-
Applicant’s scholastic
achievements
-
Applicant’s
contribution made to the community
-
Individual financial
need
-
Availability of Funds
Higher
Education is a “must” in today’s society. However, with costs escalating
higher and higher each year, it becomes more difficult and it takes a longer
period of time for students to complete their education. By supporting the
PRCUA Education Fund, you will make a difference for many students all over
the United States who may not have the necessary finances to work towards
that degree.
If you
have any questions, please call me at 773-782-2602. Checks are to be made
payable to: PRCUA Education Fund and sent to: PRCUA Education
Fund, 984 N. Milwaukee Ave., Chicago, Illinois 60642.
On behalf
of the many students who apply for one of the PRCUA scholarships, I thank
you for your interest and generosity.
Fraternally yours,

Wallace M. Ozog, FICF
