The XIV International Festival of Polish Folk
Dance Ensembles
The XIV
International Festival of Polish Folk Dance Ensembles in Rzeszow, Poland,
and in Lvov, Ukraine, (an extension of the Rzeszow Festival) was held in
July. This most famous Dance Festival was organized by the "Wspolnota Polska
(WP)" and focused on adult groups. It takes place every 3 years to promote
Polish folk dancing and singing, to preserve old traditions, culture and
love for the land of our forefathers. It also was a great opportunity to
demonstrate artistic achievements, have fun and make lasting friendships.
This year, 43 ensembles (1,300+ dancers) attended, including two PRCUA
groups: Wesoly Lud, directed by Misia and Richard Jaminski and Polonia,
directed by Anna
Krysinski and Cecylia Roznowska - all from Chicago.
Here are some photos from the event.
