Highlights of the 73rd Annual PRCUA
National Bowling Tournament

73rd Bowling Tournament Winnings

St. Stan's Society #718 hosted the 73rd Annual PRCUA National Bowling Tournament. It was held on Friday, April 23, through Sunday, April 25, 2010, at Plaza Lanes, in Plymouth, MI.

The opening ceremony was held on Saturday at 1:00 p.m. Resident Vice-President, Anna Sokolowski, introduced the Officers and Directors of the PRCUA. Present were: President Wallace and Mrs. Joann Ozog; Resident Vice-President Anna Sokolowski and husband Mark; Vice-President Robert Bielenda and wife, Eleanor; Secretary-Treasurer Joyce Szarowicz and husband, Walter; District 2 Director Bill Nowakowski; District 5 Director Joan Sylak, and District 10 Director Barbara Toboy. Past Director Connie Bonin was also present.

Joe Ozog, Jr. of Society #1493 was awarded the "Joe Osmanski Bowler of the Year" plaque and jacket. Congratulations, Joe! President Wallace Ozog threw out the ceremonial first ball to open the tournament.

Congratulations to the Officers and members of St. Stan's Society #718 for hosting this annual event. Festivities included a great hospitality room on Thursday evening. Mass was celebrated by the Society Chaplain Fr. John Mikula on Saturday, then dancing to the music of "The Touch of Brass" was enjoyed by two hundred attendees until the midnight
hour.

Congratulations to the winners of the PRCUA Handicap Tournament - Men's team THUNDER of Wyandotte, MI and Women's team TOLEDO VILLAGE GALS of Toledo, OH. Check the PRCUA website for the list of winners.

Members of the hosting committee were: Co-chairs Frank and Jerry Nasiatka; Jackpots chair Patrick Kosowski; 50/50 raffles chair Gary Hamilton; Hospitality chair Frank Nasiatka and Ad book committee Bob Bielenda, Ted Klamerus and Gary Ewald.

Thanks to John Kohler and his staff at Plaza Lanes. Thanks also to my sons, Paul and Joe, for handling the tournament in my absence. And as always, thank you to Resident Vice President Anna Sokolowski and her efficient secretary Mary Jane Robles.

Looking forward to seeing you all at next year's tournament being hosted by PRCUA District 7, at Stardust Bowl in Addison, Illinois.
