PRCUA: Sporting Events

(Photos) The 57th National PRCUA Golf Tournament was held at The Woodlands of Van Buren in Wayne, Michigan the weekend of July 18-19, 2009, under the chairmanship of the host committee, Father Al’s Society #1493.

There were 159 golfers from Ohio, Pennsylvania, Indiana, Illinois, Colorado, New York, Wisconsin and Michigan who participated. Throughout the day, there was a combination of sun, clouds and wind, but no rain, and no hot weather as encountered in previous tournaments. The afternoon golfers were treated with an air show put on by the Blue Angels.

After a long day, golfers and guests attended a Mass celebrated by National Chaplain Rev. Walter Ptak, followed by an evening of dancing, socializing and the opportunity to win many door and raffle prizes.

National Officers present were President Wallace Ozog and his wife Joann; Vice President Bob Bielenda and his wife Eleanor; District 10 Directors Barbara Toboy and Tom Lisiecki, and District 2 Director William Nowakowski.

Thank you is extended to Joe Ozog, Jr. and his committee for the time they put into making this tournament possible and to the many PRCUA members who supported the tournament through their participation. PRCUA provides these fraternal programs for its members, but it is up to our members to take the initiative to participate in order to keep these programs vibrant and alive.
