What is a Member?

The fraternal benefit society system is unique. Being a member of a fraternal, such as the Polish Roman Catholic Union of America, you become an owner. Our certificate holders own more than just life insurance or annuities – they own a piece of the PRCUA. The fundamental concept of fraternalism is that individuals come together to form one unit, to help one another in the event of a loss. This mutual support is the foundation of the PRCUA.

These concepts translate into very tangible benefits for our members. Because our members own the company, any profit generated is retained by the PRCUA and is added to its financial strength and product attractiveness. Profits are shared among members in the forms of dividends, increases in insurance coverage and a variety of fraternal programs which are discussed further in this booklet. In contrast to stock insurance companies, which are owned by investors and shareholders who seek to profit from your premium, all PRCUA members/owners are able to profit.

This motivates us to provide you with the best possible service and to manage the Polish Roman Catholic Union of America with great care.

The PRCUA supports various Polish American causes, provides scholarships for higher education and student grants, and subsidizes a number of Polish language and dance schools. Your membership also helps to support The Polish Museum of America-the oldest ethnic museum in the US.
