Chicago, IL – This year’s Annual PRCUA Święconka Luncheon was hosted by District #7 and was held on April 18, 2015 at Grota Restaurant in Chicago, IL.

Upon arriving, guests were warmly greeted by Kim Kucik and Peggy Burita. The program was opened by the District #7 Directors Anna Krysinski and Kevin Kucik, who welcomed everyone in Polish and English respectively. Before lunch, Dir. Anna Krysinski introduced the Music and Choral Director of Polonia Ensemble, Mieczysław Dzis, who played music on his accordion for the enjoyment of the guests. Kevin Kucik also said a short prayer before the meal, which was a scrumptious Polish-style feast.

After lunch, a short entertainment program was performed by the dancers from the Polonia Ensemble. Children, dressed in costumes from the Śląsk region of Poland, sang a few songs, accompanied by accordion music played by Mieczysław Dzis. Between the songs, Director Anna Krysinski presented short information about the tradition of egg decorating in Poland and showed some examples of beautifully decorated eggs. Director Kevin Kucik described different techniques of decorating eggs in Poland. Then, the Polonia dancers gave all of the guests wooden Polish Easter eggs, as a token of appreciation for their participation in this year’s Święconka.

The last part of program was a drawing for the money raffle. The youngest of the dancers drew the names from the basket and Dir. Kucik read the names of the winners: Joey Robaczewski was the lucky winner of the grand prize, the second prize was won by Peggy Burita and the third prize was won by Diane Cortesi. Everyone commented on what a nice event this was. Thanks go to the Committee members and everyone from PRCUA District #7 who contributed to the success of this event.
