St. Stan’s PRCUALife #718 College and Tuition Grants

NEW: Edward “Edzia” Kapanowski Trade School Scholarship Award

Eligibility and Application

Applicants must meet all of the below mandatory criteria (PRCUA membership as explained below is mandatory):

  1. Applicant must be a member of Society #718 for at least 3 years. Applicant must have a PRCUA whole life insurance policy with a minimum face value of $5,000 to enter.
  2. Applicant must be attending a full time, certified, tuition-based trade school in the career path of building construction, mechanical, maintenance or other related courses of study. (Subject to PRCUA committee approval.) Attach proof of enrollment or letter of acceptance.
  3. Applicants must maintain a passing grade point average of 3.0 or equivalent. Attach proof of grade point average.
  4. All applicants must submit an essay (no more than 500 words) on one of the following topics: 1) My Polish Heritage; 2) What My Family Means to Me; or, 3) How to Involve Younger People in the PRCUA. (Attach essay to this application prior to submittal.) Essay is required only for the first year of enrollment.

The Awards

  • Two scholarships of up to $1,000 each will be awarded per year.
  • The committee reserves the right to limit the number of scholarships awarded, if they feel there are not two acceptable
    applications, or distribute available funds accordingly to ensure equitability.

Ron Gdowski College Award

Eligibility and Application

All applications will be considered, with an emphasis on the following criteria (PRCUA membership as explained below is mandatory):

  1. Applicant must be a member of Society #718 for at least 3 years. Applicant must have a PRCUA whole life insurance policy with a minimum face value of $5,000 to enter.
  2. Applicant must be attending a full time, four-year accredited college, or university or community college with at least 12 credit hours per semester. Attach proof of enrollment or letter of acceptance.
  3. Applicants must maintain a grade point average of 3.0 or equivalent. Attach proof of grade point average.
  4. All applicants must submit an essay (no more than 500 words) on one of the following topics:  1) My Polish Heritage; 2) What My Family Means to Me; or, 3) How to Involve Younger People in the PRCUA.  (Attach essay to the application prior to submittal).

Essay is required only for the first year of College.

The Awards

  • Two scholarships of $1,000 each will be awarded per year.
  • Scholarships will be divided into two categories; (a) Freshman and Sophomore, (b) Junior and Senior.
  • The committee reserves the right to limit the number of scholarships awarded, if they feel there are not two acceptable applications.

Stan Solak High School Award

Eligibility and Application

Entrants must attend a private Catholic High School in grades 9 through 12 for the upcoming school year.

Applicant must be a member of St. Stan’s, PRCUA Society #718 for a minimum of one year. Applicant must have a PRCUA whole life insurance policy with a minimum face value of $5,000 to qualify.

Only one entry per family allowed for grades 9 through 12. If you have multiple children in any grade segment, enter all of their names on one entry coupon.

Details

A random drawing will be held for all applicants at our Annual Society Picnic. The winners will be notified by phone. The winners must provide proof of attendance on official school letterhead signed by a school representative.  Tentatively, St. Stan’s plans to award Two (2) Tuition Grants, each totaling $500, to entrants drawn from the pool of students entering 9th through 12th grade for the upcoming school year.   The finalized number and amount of award(s) will be determined based on available funds and announced in early May.

Ted Klamerus Grammar School Award

Eligibility and Application
