September is Life Insurance Awareness Month and in honor of the month let’s review the term- beneficiary.
Beneficiary (noun): the person you designate to get the money from your life insurance upon your passing. In an August 2023 Forbes Advisor survey, respondents showed confusion about who could be a beneficiary, with only 58% believing a spouse could be listed as a beneficiary, and only 18% believing a charity could be listed as a beneficiary. A beneficiary can be a person, a charity, a trust, or your estate.
