The year 2020 will most certainly go down in history as the year of the coronavirus pandemic. Covid-19 has changed the way we live and almost everything we do. You have felt it at school, not being able to participate in your education as you know it. Some of us may have a loved one who fell ill, and we see our families dealing with stresses at work and at home.

We would like to assure you, however, that there will come a moment when everything will return to normal! This is our hope and prayer not only for ourselves, but for everyone around the globe.

For the Polish-American Heritage Month Coloring Contest this October, we have chosen the current situation as our topic in the hope that we can shed a positive and uplifting light on it. Our image shows the earth wearing the mask that has become the symbol of the pandemic. Representing the western hemisphere, there is a panorama of Chicago—the city with the largest Polish population in America— and from the eastern hemisphere, Warszawa—the capital of Poland and sister city of Chicago.

Color this picture in the spirit of a better tomorrow. Pick the patriotic colors of the Polish and American flags, or the hopeful colors of the rainbow. Let everything in your heart and soul pour out onto the paper. Let’s show that no matter where we live, we are in this together!

We await your entries – prizes and gifts will be awarded to winners in multiple age categories, and the grand prize entry will be featured on this year’s PRCUA Christmas card!
